Sandra Rodriguez, Principal

Mrs. Rodriguez has been in the education field for 22 years. 
She graduated from the University of Houston: Main Campus twice. First with a Bachelors degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and then a Masters degree in Educational Leadership. Throughout the years, Mrs. Rodriguez has worked as a reading tutor, a dual language/bilingual teacher, a campus instructional specialist, an assistant principal and, recently, principal.

During her spare time, Mrs. Rodriguez enjoys spending time with her family-especially her two little ones. She also enjoys cooking and doing crafts.

Alaide Zavala, Assistant Principal

Ms. Zavala has been in the field of Education for 23 years. She graduated with her Bachelor of Arts from Ramapo College of New Jersey. After relocating to Texas, she went on to complete her Masters Degree in Multicultural Studies in 2009 from the University of Houston- Clear Lake. She then returned to UHCL to complete a Masters in Education , focusing on Bilingual Education, while also completing her Principal Program in 2015.

Before becoming an Assistant Principal, Ms. Zavala taught 3rd-5th grade Bilingual classes, served as the campus science specialist for several years, and most recently worked as the Lead Instructional Coach. 

In her spare time, Ms. Zavala enjoys spending time with her family. She loves to travel, run marathons, and being active in the community.

Janette Salazar, Digital Learning and Assessment Coordinator

Ms. Salazar has been in the field of Education for 18 years.  She graduated with her Bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Houston-Downtown and then a Master's degree in Educational Leadership from Texas A&M.  Ms. Salazar's educational experience includes: special-ed records clerk, dual language/bilingual teacher, new teacher lead mentor, and, most recently, district bilingual instructional specialist.

During her spare time, Ms. Salazar enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and traveling.
